David Keto is Chief Operating
Officer at NewTower Trust Company and is Chair of the Trust Real Estate Investment Committee. Mr.
Keto has over twenty-five years experience in real estate investment,
finance, law, and economic development. Prior to joining NewTower,
he was Chief Operating Officer for the AFL-CIO Investment Trust
Corporation (ITC), a financial services company providing marketing
and other investment-related services for clients including the
AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust. Before ITC, Mr. Keto was General
Counsel and Chief of Staff for the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust,
an investment company providing debt capital for residential real
estate. Prior to his association with the AFL-CIO Investment Program,
Mr. Keto served as Undersecretary in the Executive Office of Economic
Affairs for Massachusetts where he led the development of the state's
economic recovery strategy and a comprehensive economic development
legislative program in the early 1990's. He also served as Vice
President for Planning at the New England Aquarium with capital
planning responsibilities for the institution's $120 million expansion
master plan. As Special Counsel at the Boston Redevelopment Authority
(BRA) he provided legal oversight for a number of planning, economic
development and regulatory initiatives and major project reviews.
Prior to the BRA, he was a real estate lawyer at the Boston law
firm of Goulston & Storrs. Mr. Keto earned a bachelor's degree
from Princeton University in 1977 and a law degree from the Yale
Law School in 1981.
